WMF2EPS was developed for earlier Windows versions with XP as the latest. The need for WMF2EPS was decreasing continuously, and so, with the upcoming Windows Vista around 2007, I decided not to make an update step with WMF2EPS. (it was mainly the PS printer driver interface which had changed from XP to Vista, a WMF2EPS user provided a patch for). With Windows 7 (64) the Vista patch did't work any more. Due to user requests here is another patch for Windows 7:

If you are interested in running WMF2EPS under Windows 7 (either the x86 or the 64bit version) you can perform the following steps in order to install the WMF2EPS and its virtual printer:

  1. install (unpack) WMF2EPS to some directory (typ. %ProgramFiles%\WMF2EPS)
  2. Download and unpack this zip archive to any temp- directory
  3. continue installing the WMF2EPS virtual printer as described in Readme.txt, let Windows search for a driver in the temp-.\Win7 subfolder.

Once you have the WMF2EPS virtual printer installed, please change the drivers DEFAULT output to EPS. Click the right mouse button on it and select Properties->Printing Preferences->Advanced.... Select the Postscript Output section and select the Encapsulated Postscript (EPS) option. This setting is most important, all other options here will produce wrong output !
